EcoTransform has been involved with an exciting environmental project, working closely with practitioners and researchers coordinating the reintroduction of beavers in northern Greece. The initiative aims to restore habitats and revitalise ecosystems, and has the potential to create significant and far-reaching impacts beyond the environment, for the wellbeing and socio-economic outcomes of local communities.
A detailed framework, developed by our team, was able to capture the full range of potential project outcomes – from economic losses for farmers to increased business for hospitality – and facilitated assessment of the project’s overall social impact. We advised on effective assessment techniques to provide reliable data for accurate socio-economic impact, and conducted a comprehensive stakeholder analysis to identify the groups most affected.
